Would you be able to find the pieces that you need to lay a solid foundation and create a frame for your puzzle aka your life? Does this whole analogy make even sense to you or does it just sound silly? Well, keep reading to understand what I mean by “Imagine your life in puzzle pieces”.

Have you ever watched your child figuring out how puzzle pieces work?

When they grab a straight piece and try to fit it in the inside of a puzzle. And you think to yourself can’t you see it it’s an outside piece? It builds the frame and doesn’t fill the inside?

Or when they try to find a certain shaped piece but they grab one that looks completely different yet they still place it over that space and try to put it in? And you wonder and look at it thinking, really? Can’t you see that this is the wrong shape?

Of course you know they are kids and still new to this concept so you let them experiment. You are kind when explaining how to approach it and see what may fit and doesn’t fit. At least I hope you are kind in explaining it because they don’t know what the hell they are doing. They still learn the world around them and how things work. They don’t have the knowledge that you have gathered over time yet. They probably look at those endless pile of pieces and feeling overwhelmed and confused how on earth all this will fit together to make that awesome picture you can see on the box.

Now imagine your life or thoughts and  actions you do in your life as one of those puzzle pieces…..Looking at the pile of pieces (actions and thoughts) does that make you feel overwhelmed at times? How do you work through them to make the right pieces fit together? Be honest to yourself do you think that has ever happened to you?

I mean doing certain action steps so sure that you know they are right but suddenly or slowly you realize your working against your inner essence? Against the shape of the puzzle, the whole picture?

I always feel like life is a big puzzle and we all hold our own small picture to fit into the whole – bigger – picture.

Let me try and explain that a bit more in detail or rather with a different metaphor.

Do you know the Unidragon puzzles? If not here is a picture so you got a better vision of what I’m talking about. It’s a wooden puzzle and the pieces have odd shapes. Even the “frame” of the puzzle is odd as it has the shape of the animal or mandala your making. While some puzzle pieces look like actual animals you also get some odd shaped once to fit in. It’s lots of fun to make. You should try it one day. The colours are super vibrant and the quality is outstanding. Definitely worth a try. (I’ll put a link on the photo in case you’d like to give it a go)

So imagine one of those tiny pieces that is shaped like a fish or star or other animal is you. But that tiny piece is again split in different tiny pieces that you first have to figure out before you can even try and see the big picture that is your life’s destiny or simply your inner dreams if you don’t believe in destiny and faith. 😉 The whispers you hear while shaping a dream and your life when imagining your future.

To find all those different puzzle pieces you need to try some. You most likely fail in some they just won’t fit no matter how hard you try.

But and that’s important you always learn something from trying those puzzle pieces. Yes they may not fit but you get better in recognising the shape, colours, patterns that may fit in that specific spot to build your own little picture. That shows you, your talent, your superpower your everything.

And that’s how life is for me. How I picture it. This year is my year of figuring out those puzzle pieces of my life to lay a solid foundation to reach those dreams of mine. And in the process I’d like to share my findings, tools and creative endeavours to help you to discover your puzzle pieces and find the right spot for them.

Obviously there are always lots of different ways to achieve this and lots of different ways to show your creativity.

For me creativity flows through quilting, sewing and fibre art. However, in this blog post I’d like to look further into how we can see or experience creativity.

Think about writing or words and numbers in general how can you use your creativity to make words come to life? I know we instantly think about books or lectures but how about computer programming? They use a different style of using those words/numbers to create something completely different to create programmes or games to entertain and enhance our life. Well, at least most programs do but I suppose that depends on how you look at it.

Let’s explore creativity in this post. Try to think about ways to express creativity that doesn’t involve the common topics such as painting, sewing, quilting, pottery etc. What does it mean to you to use your creativity to feel in your flow zone? In your genius zone?

Have you ever thought about that?

In case you haven’t maybe now it’s time to do so. What is your superpower, your genius zone. How can you use it creatively to do something awesome in your life for you and the people around you? To become your best version?

Just simply ask that question and be open for answers coming to you and play around with thought ideas and see what happens. Pro tip. Have something close by to write down all those thoughts that will come up. Either a physical book to journal in or an app such as “one note” or whatever you’ve already got on your phone that works for you.

I will talk about my discovery of my “superpower” in a different post someday. As I’m still exploring it and see if that really can be my superpower and if it is I shall see how I can use it to my advantage to live my creativity. 🙂 I’ve spend quite some time on an inner journey last year and I’ll be honest I’m still a bit doubtful that what I think is my superpower is really my superpower as it’s odd. But I’ve decided this year I’ll remove all my doubts and simply try it and see what happens. So more on this topic some other time.

For now let’s hear about how you see creativity. When you think about being creative does it have to do with plants, numbers, analytical thinking or exploring things? There is no right or wrong answer simply an answer that works for you.

I have to admit that I’m one of those people who things about arts and craft when thinking about creativity but I know that creativity is not limited to this sector. Creativity runs through everything and everyone. Everything we do each day has some creativity in it.

I’d like to hear from you how you experience creativity in different ways. Please share your experience and thoughts below in the comment box to discover different ways of being creative. 🙂 When I discover more ways I’ll place them in the comment box as well to keep this post alive with different ideas of how to live our creativity.

Why is this so important you wonder? Well, I think living your creativity can not only make your life more awesome but it’s also a way to make the world a better place for all of us.

Like this finished fish puzzle. It was a Christmas gift in I think 2021 or 2022. Anyway, since then it radiates positive energy when ever I look at my finished piece on the wall. And most importantly I know what my initial thoughts were. I saw all these tiny puzzle pieces and thought I’ll never finish this till next Christmas. And then doing some work on it here and there I’ve finished it within a few days. I couldn’t believe it. And it felt really calming when I did it. So double bonus I reckon. 🙂

Have fun exploring what creativity means to you and how you can use it to become a better person and live an awesome life.

Looking forward to hear your thoughts and discoveries on this topic.

Happy creating.
